  • 5 Super Stylish Trends for Flats

5 Super Stylish Trends for Flats

While elegance is most often associated with high-heeled shoes and sandals that elongate the leg, increasingly women across the nation are turning to flats. There are numerous reasons for this trend; perhaps the most obvious is the days of dowdy flats that made one look poor have long ended. In their place, women are buying stylish flats that would look great for any occasion from meeting the Queen to going out for lunch with a group of good friends. Second, flats are more practical for day-to-day use, going to work, the grocery store, or doing any other task one might want to do in the course of a day. They are also easier on your body in the long run. If you are unsure on what type of flats you might like, we have some tips, as does Marie Claire UK with 30 flat shoes you will want to swap your heels for.

Go for Contrast – Red Flats with a Yellow Dress

Bold contrasts are a great way to highlight your newest pair of flats, and make your dress or outfit pop. A great pair of red flats looks great with a yellow or white sundress, or even a pair of jeans. As a style it says conservative, yet stylish, put together yet fun.

    Flat Cage Sandals

Where would women’s shoe fashion be without a little whimsy? Fendi has thrown a wrench into the definition of flat with its latest style the flat cage sandal. As far as shoes go, it says summer and fun, yet would not look out of place on the runways of Milan. Speaking of Italians, they are known for making sure their shoes are always timeless

    Leopard Print

Leopard print is always in style. There is something about it that says both antiquity, and natural. It speaks to many because it has a muted quality when it is being worn, and can be easily matched to a range of warm colours without distracting from the whole outfit. In some circles this popular print has been re branded tortoise shell.

    Lace

A little leather and lace never hurt anyone. Increasingly designers are turning to lace to decorate the outside of their flat shoes. These shoes have a hint of antiquity with an element of modernity in the colours that have been chosen for the designs. Lace shoes strike a nice contrast with a modern outfit, and compliment classical outfits with lace and frills nicely.

    Nudie

Scandal and nudity are two things most people think of when they hear the term nudie. But there is a reason for the popularity of nudie shoes, flats or otherwise. The biggest amongst them is they blend in with a woman’s natural skin tones. This results in the shoes almost completely disappearing from the view of anyone who the wearer might come into contact with. The end result is zero emphasis on the footwear and 100% of the attention focused on the outfit. If you are wearing nudie shoes it is critical your outfit look

  • A Guide On How To Host A Memorable Corporate Event

A Guide On How To Host A Memorable Corporate Event

Hosting a memorable corporate event can be beneficial for your business. It can do almost everything from boosting morale amongst the team to increasing sales for your clients. Successful corporate events do more than help a firm to nurture working relationships or create connections outside of the office. It can also be an excellent way to show appreciation and gratitude towards employees.

With the numerous benefits of hosting a corporate event, it is no surprise that many companies are looking for ways to host their own event. Whether it is to promote a product launch, celebrate accomplishments of the past year, interact with existing and potential clients or showing their appreciation for the team, a corporate event is an excellent opportunity to bring people together.

If you are looking to host the ultimate corporate event, one that your guests in attendance will be talking about long after the event is finished, then here’s a selection of ways to create a memorable corporate event.

    Generate Buzz Around The Event

Before the event takes place, look at creating excitement around the event. Although a unique invitation might catch people’s interest, posting on social media teasers for the upcoming corporate event will help to build some excitement about the event. You can include photos of the venue, encourage people to interact by guessing what the theme will be or what entertainment there will be. You can discuss the dress code or ask for song requests.

By building this excitement around the event and encouraging guests to interact, you can generate enthusiasm around the event. As the date of the corporate event draws closer, guests excitement and energy levels will begin to rise in anticipation. As a result, this enables everyone to make the most out of the event from the second they arrive.

    Think Outside The Box

Not all corporate events need to be held in a conference hall, where guests are provided with dinner and a show. Whilst these are effective ways, it can be challenging to make them memorable. You want your guests to enjoy themselves and the evening. However, if they remember very little from the event, then it will have done nothing for your cause.

Consider pushing the boundaries of what is possible and look at alternative venues to host an event. One alternative idea is a corporate festival. You can be creative in how you promote the event, creating festival tickets as the invitation and posting a festival themed line-up poster on social media.

Aside from being a unique summer party idea for your business, it also provides countless opportunities for team bonding, team rewards and brand promotion. Giving awards to employees or clients that are unique and off the wall will leave them with a memorable experience that they will talk bout for years. We are not just talking about a plaque or voucher but something collectible like an ongoing investment in stocks, bonds or precious metals that will grow with your time together.

During the event, you can feature music, food, moments to showcase the business and even offer a glamping experience. There are numerous corporate glamping experiences available, which can help you to create a truly unique and memorable corporate event. It could be an event that both employees and clients will be talking about long after the event has finished.

    Continue The Connections

Just because the event is sadly over, does not mean your line of communication with attendees has to end too. Let your attendees know that you care. Take advantage of the contact information and profiles you have gathered during the event and use them to reach out post-event to keep in touch.

It does not need to be an in-depth message, it could be as simple as staying connected by asking for feedback on the event. Following initial follows ups, then you can start to create a dialogue between new and existing contacts. Maintaining this level of communication will help to foster the relationships created during your event and will help to increase the likelihood of additional business.

    Capture The Day

For some guests, the memory of the event will be more than enough. However, as the organiser of the event, you will want to ensure that you have recorded how the day went. Invest in a photographer and even a videographer to capture all of the highlights of this memorable day. Having your event photographed or filmed will be beneficial for your business in a diverse range of ways. With the images and videos captured, you can share something that is tangible with your guests and all those who participated in the day.

For example, if you have a live band, they will most likely not pass an opportunity to have their performance filmed, neither would someone delivering a talk at your event. All those working the event might be appreciative of reliving the successful event through photographs and videos.

In addition to this, the photographs and images can be useful marketing materials for your business. All of which could prove to be useful when the time comes to host another event.

There are various details, both significant and small, that will help to create a memorable corporate event. From how the event is promoted, through to the event itself, such as a corporate festival, and even the days following the event, all help to create a lasting impression in the minds of all those in attendance. When planning, ensure that you cover all bases to create a corporate event that will have people fondly reminiscing for years to come.

  • Clean Out Your Closet: How to Make Extra Money with your Old Clothes

Clean Out Your Closet: How to Make Extra Money with your Old Clothes

Whether you’re cleaning out your closet to make room for your new clothes, or just want to get rid of items that you no longer use, there’s a better option than just throwing them straight out. Why not make money out of them by reselling them online? Not only is it quick and easy to do, you’ll also put those clothes that you outgrew that are still in perfectly good condition to better use.

Here’s how you can make some extra cash with your old clothes:

Team Up with Your Friends and Start a Garage Sale

You’re not the only one with a full closet and stuff you no longer need. Gather up your friends and start a weekend garage sale where you can display all the clothes that you’d like to resell. You’ll have plenty of items to offer, and gather more people with the added connections from your friends who are in on the garage sale with you.

Bring Your Used Clothes To The Nearest Consignment Store

There’s bound to be at least one or two in your town, so pack up your used clothing and take them to the one nearest you. The downside of this is that it does take some time and energy, and there’s also a possibility that the store will turn your items away.

Create an Account at an Online Marketplace

Before, we really only had eBay and Craigslist. That’s no longer the case today, though. Now, there are websites and software that lets you create online shop for clothes. All you need to do is create an account, build up your sites and post our pre-loved items for customers to peruse.

Some online marketplaces even have an authentication feature, where they make sure all items they place on sale are authenticated, thereby increasing the trust among buyers and sellers.

    Download an App

If you’re not exactly keen on navigating through websites, apps are the way to go. They’re convenient, easily accessible, and fairly easy to use as well. Apps are perfect for first-time online sellers who want a quick upload and sell system that they can easily get to through their phones.

Utilize Instagram and Other Social Media Platforms

Creating an online clothes shop from scratch or organizing a garage sale takes up a ton of time, energy, and resources. Fortunately, we can even now sell our old stuff on social networking sites like Facebook, or even better, Instagram. It has tons of users, and is easy to understand and scroll through – perfect for posting photos of items that you’d like to sell. You’ll need to set up a secure payment set up, though, as well as shipping options.

Thankfully, we live in a day and age where online shopping has become a lifestyle. It makes it so much easier to find buyers for items that we no longer need, and for us to find stuff that we might need at a lower price range. It will surely save you some trip to the nearest consignment store and give your used clothes a second life.

  • WEARING // UTTER BOXPARK PARTY

    WEARING // UTTER BOXPARK PARTY

Last night we had our ‘UTTER Couture x BOXPARK’ party to celebrate our week at the Boxpark pop-up store. It was a brilliant night, all though so many more people than we were expecting (and prepared for). Only UTTER can get away with playing bashment at 7 in the evening and people were still going mad. Good vibes all over.

My outfit was a very last minute decision, but I decided to layer my maxi kimono under a black, cropped, high neck top. I also paired the outfit with a beanie and sky high cleated sole black boots. It was a grunge look which I was surprisingly comfortable in.

  • WEARING // rottweiler T

    WEARING // rottweiler T

This T-shirt is definitely one of the best faux designer items I’ve bought (I love a bit of fake & tackyness). It’s so easy to throw on over jeans or leggings, or with a black bodycon skirt under with bare legs for the summer. But I always seem to get more wear out of it during the winter months when I’m in a rush. It’s definitely a ‘go-to’ item if I’m struggling for something to wear. I’ve had it for about a year and a half now, and no matter how many times I’ve moved between my mums and my dads houses for different lengths of time, this T has always come with me.

Today I wore this outfit for a spot of shopping with a coffee break in the middle of course! I paired it with chunky black heeled boots, a fur gilet and a fedora hat to add a bit more of a feminine touch as the T can appear quite masculine and ‘dark’ to those who are unaware that it is a copy of the Givenchy Rottweiler T.

  • WEARING // CHRISTMAS DAY

    WEARING // CHRISTMAS DAY

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas wherever you were! Whether you were with family, friends and loved ones I hope you were surrounded by good food and company. I realise I haven’t blogged in a good few days but Christmas is about spending time with people, not sat in your room on your laptop haha. But I didn’t completely forget about my duties.. I managed to persuade my mum to take a couple of photos when we had a few spare minutes.

I received these Kurt Geiger heels as a Christmas present. I’m so in love with them, plus they’re the perfect heel height for comfort and adding a bit of height. I ordered this top quite recently from Missguided. It’s perfect for hiding those Christmas dinner rolls, although I did have to use a safety pin (you could also use ‘body tape’) to secure the deep V neck so that there wasn’t any unfortunate accidents or inappropriate flashing!

  • 5 NYE Party Outfit Ideas

    5 NYE Party Outfit Ideas

Iknow there’s still a week until Christmas, but I just can’t help myself when it comes to party outfits.. especially for NYE!! So I’ve done a little shopping around and found my 5 favourite outfits which I think you’ll love too.

    1.Metalic Dress– ASOS

The Fedora is an item which is continuously transcending seasons and I

2.Snake Print Suit – RIVER ISLAND

This is definitely for the most mature look out of the 5, and I also think it might be my favourite. Plus, lets not forget that NYE takes place in the very chilly months, so this would also be a smarter, more practical option. However the gold snake print doesn’t make it too much of a safe option so you’ll still fit in with all the glitz and glamour that will be out in full force.

    3.Pink/Nude Sequin Dress– RIVER ISLAND

You can’t go wrong with a bodycon midi dress, and this one is especially cute! Throw a fur coat over the top and some chunky platforms on and you’re ready to go.

    4.Sequin Flared Trousers – ASOS

I love, love, love these! Channel your inner 70’s diva in these super bold flares. With a casual cropped top, a cropped fur jacket and dark red lips you’ll be looking vampy in your partywear.

5.Sequin Dress with Feather Hem – TOPSHOP

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past month or so, you will know that fur and feather hems are IN. I’ve seen a few simple A line dresses with fur hems, but seeing as it’s NYE why not dress up a bit more and go all out with sequins and feathers. I’m not one for sequinned things as I have discussed before, but seeing as this dress is in metallic colours I reckon I could deal with this sassy number.

  • WEARING // BOXING DAY

    WEARING // BOXING DAY

What better to do on Boxing Day than have a browse in the Boxing Day Sales?! I’m not one of those who wake up at a crazy hour in the morning to make sure they’re outside the stores when they open, but I do enjoy having a browse, as long as it’s not too mad! My family and I took a trip to Guildford to have a look. All I bought was some MAC Foundation (my first MAC purchase ever before by the way, shocking I know!), tights, socks and a Christmas present for someone who I hadn’t got round to buying for before Christmas Day.

Both the cardigan and roll neck top in the above images were Christmas presents from my Mum, I’m so grateful for them. She clearly knows me very well! I think the cardigan and fedora hat paired together could go with almost any basic outfit to make it a little more interesting. Plus the cardigan is super cosy to laze around in as I’ve found out today whilst writing this blog post.

  • WEARING // festive sparkles

    WEARING // festive sparkles

If I’m perfectly honest, the last sparkly item of clothing I bought was a pair of stupidly high, cheap, gold, glittery heels for my year 11 prom, I look back on that dark period of my life with shame… I think that it might have scarred me for a long time, as I hadn’t bought anything remotely similar until now. During my Black Friday spend-up, I wondered into New Look and came across this top. In 3 years, nothing like this had caught my eye until now. With Christmas day and Christmas parties on my mind, I thought that I could work this top into my delightfully black wardrobe so that I at least appear a little festive during the month of December!

I paired it with a maxi kimono which I bought in the summer but unfortunately, due to my height of a mere 5ft. 2, it’s only been a worn a handful of times as I HAVE to wear heels with it, otherwise it drowns me and drags along the floor.
